Seeds of Life
Sowing Hope
Seeds of Life endeavors to raise funds and provide seed money to develop and sustain our mission of personal transformation. Through Healing, Equipping, and Training, we help people experience emotional and relational healing and equip them to better discern and fulfill their purpose in life.
Seeds of Life Fund
The Seeds of Life Fund is designed to promote excellent and affordable faith based mental health related services to the greater Charleston community with three primary objectives:
To financially assist those in need of counseling and/or diagnostic and training services that they would otherwise be unable to afford. It is designed for the therapist, client and donor to work collaboratively to make quality care accessible.
To offset the cost of continuing education and other training opportunities for mental health professionals to grow in their clinical and theological competency.
To be a key auxiliary resource to the general public, churches, and organizations in the Lowcountry by providing teaching and workshops for free or at a reduced cost.
Scholarship Guidelines for Clients
With the generosity of donors throughout our community, we can offer a discounted rate to individuals and families in need of counseling. Clients each receive a 10% discount from their therapist’s original rate and are expected to make a copay at each session. The remaining balance is then paid from church or donation funds.
-
Client copays are determined based on financial and therapeutic circumstances. The minimum client copay is:
-
Individual Sessions: $60.00
-
Child/ Family Sessions: $90.00
-
Marriage sessions: $90.00
-
-
The maximum individual income to qualify is $40,000 annually.
-
The maximum combined income to qualify is $75,000 annually.
-
Clients are required to pay for their first session in full prior to applying for the scholarship. This helps establish a financial investment in the therapy process.
-
Applications cannot be approved without all the required paperwork being present. This includes a completed application, and a copy of your most recent tax return AND a paycheck stub that includes a year-to-date total. The therapist’s regular rate will be charged until the application has been completely processed. We will not review any applications without all supporting documents present.
-
Scholarships are approved for a 3-6 month duration. After the period has expired, clients are encouraged to re-apply if therapy exceeds the awarded term. The exact dates will be listed in your approval email and the therapy session rate will return to the standard rate once the agreement has expired. Scholarships are awarded at a maximum of 12 months with exceptions made on a case-by-case basis.
-
Scholarship clients are asked to keep a credit card on file for no shows and excessive/late cancellations. We can also process this card for your therapy sessions, at your request.
-
The email address, scholarship@myliferesources.org, should be used for all client communication involving scholarship assistance. The administrative staff will notify you via email on the status of your application from this email address.
