Jenny Dunlap, M.A.
Licensed Professional Counselor, Associate
Jenny is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) and a National Certified Counselor. She holds a CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services from Penn State University. She is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Jenny is passionate about walking alongside children, teens, young adults, and their families through the challenges of growth and development. Her professional background includes work in foster care—both in family support and residential settings—which deepened her compassion for the next generation and those who care for them. Her clinical interests include anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, and life transitions. She also has experience supporting clients with disordered eating and body image concerns and is committed to ongoing training to provide the best care in these areas.
Jenny believes healing happens within the context of safe, meaningful relationships. In counseling, she strives to create a space where clients feel seen and heard—reminding them that their story matters and they are not alone. She draws on each person’s strengths, creativity, and passions to support growth, incorporating talk therapy, art, and play-based approaches to meet developmental needs. Her work is guided by principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Person-Centered Therapy.
Outside the counseling room, Jenny serves in the children’s ministry at her local church. She enjoys long walks with her Australian Shepherd, baking sweet treats, and exploring Charleston’s vibrant coffee scene.
