Michael (Mike) Carr is a clinical mental health counselor in training to obtain his M.A. in May 2027. Mike’s approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that true healing involves the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — and that lasting change happens when clinical skill is paired with the hope and restoration found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to do the hard work, and reminded that they are never beyond the reach of God’s love.
Mike brings over two decades of personal and professional experience in the addiction and recovery space, giving him a grounded, empathic understanding of the complexities of substance use, the courage required in recovery, and the ongoing work of building a life rooted in authenticity and purpose. Additionally, he has 35 years of experience in exercise science, physical fitness, and nutrition coaching (B.S., Exercise Science; NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach).
Mike spent over 25 years in corporate leadership roles at various large organizations. After pursuing achievement and performance in the corporate world, Mike experienced a deep conviction that God was leading him toward something different: the work of walking alongside others in their pain, their recovery, and their search for wholeness. That calling grew out of his own journey of faith — one marked by seasons of brokenness, restoration, and the transformative experience of surrendering control to Christ. It is through that surrender that Mike found the freedom and clarity to serve others from a place of dependence on God’s grace.
He has been married for 21 years and is the father of two children.
